and I’m looking forward to meeting you!
I’m a hairstylist and owner of Starbaby, the cozy little salon in the heart of downtown Alameda.
I’m originally from San Diego and I have been in the Bay Area since 1999. I originally lived in San Francisco but when we had our first child, we moved here to Alameda for the beauty, safety, and amazing people. I could not think of a better place to live and work, and raise my two daughters.
I’ve been in the industry since 2005, and before settling in Alameda I got top education at some of the best salons in San Francisco.
In 2013 I received my Deva Cut certification and began my journey as a curl specialist. Often curly haired people have struggled with their hair since childhood, so I find it very rewarding to help them fall in love with their hair all over again! We have a plethora of techniques and products for curly and wavy hair at the salon and we can find the perfect match for your hair.
One of the things I love the most about hair is it’s versatility! I am dedicated to helping people find a style that works for them in their daily lives, at whatever level of commitment they are most comfortable with. If you can dream it, I will help you meet your hair goals to the best of my ability, with a focus on healthy hair.
While you’re in the salon I will keep an open communication with you, and educate you on the best products for your individual hair type, and how to use them, so you can continue to keep your gorgeous hair just the way you want it, until we meet again. Whether you have less than five minutes or an hour a day to spend on your hair, we can find a routine that is sustainable with your lifestyle, perfectly tailored to you! I am always available by email if you need help between appointments or have any questions.
On my days off you may find me with the family at one of our favorite brunch spots on the Island, on a bike ride with my kids when the weather’s nice, or in the evenings with friends out at karaoke. My latest creative obsession in my downtime is jewelry making, and I keep my head on straight with daily yoga. If you’re new to Alameda I have plenty of recommendations-let’s chat!
